Video walls & LED
A video wall is a system: panels or tiles, a processor, a source, power, and a structure to hold it. We plan those as one rental for keynotes, exhibit halls, and branded stages.
Where it usually fits
- General sessions
- Exhibit halls
- Product launches
- Sponsor backdrops
- Dashboard rooms
LED walls
Finer pixel pitch when people stand close. Brighter tiles when the wall is a stage picture or the room will not go dark. Indoor is the usual request. Ask if the wall has to live outside or in a daylit atrium.
- Approximate width, height, and closest viewer
- Ground support versus a flown wall the venue will allow
- Content ratio, so the wall is not a cropped afterthought
LCD video walls
Tiled flat panels for control-style dashboards, sponsor stories, and rooms that do not need a seamless LED surface. A visible mullion is acceptable in a lot of business rooms and simpler to power.
- 2-by-2, 3-by-3, or a custom count
- One image across the wall, or a grid of separate feeds
- Stand or wall mount the venue can accept
Processors and playback
The wall is only as calm as the signal in front of it. Processors handle layout and more than one input. Playback can be a dedicated player so a presenter's laptop is not the only copy of the show.
- List every source: laptops, cameras, playback
- Add a scaler when those sources do not match
- Spare input for the backup laptop
What to tell us
- Viewing distance and indoor or daylit conditions
- Power available near the wall, not across the aisle
- Who is building the content, and at what pixel size
- Load-in time. Walls take longer than a tripod screen
